I'll be speaking at the conference again this year, here is the abstract for my presentation:
Community Resilience: Models for Application
How do we move from talking about community resilience to action? What models of practice are available,
and how successful have they been? This session will examine work completed as part of the “Enhancing
the Capacity of the Voluntary Sector to Respond to Health Emergencies”, a project led by the Red Cross,
in partnership with the Salvation Army and St. John Ambulance, and funded by the Public Health Agency of
Canada. The results of project, involving 12 communities across Canada will be shared, as well as other
practical models of application of community resilience theory.
